About corn germ oil processing:

Corn oil processing starts with corn germ, which is the embryo of a corn plant, distinct from the starchy nutrients in the endosperm.

The oil content of the germ is about 85 percent of the total oil in the seed. The first step in corn oil processing is mechanical: Corn kernels are dehulled and then crushed with a grooved roller to break down the cell walls.

The resultant cake is then "wet milled," steeped in water acidified with sulphur dioxide to separate the components of the seed.

Brief introduction of main equipments:

1) Magnetic separator: Clearing the iron impurity which migLD be in the sunflower.

2) Cleaning: Removing the stone or solid impurities in the sunflower, in case of they will influence the oil yield rate and desolventizing of wet meal in the next process.

3) Softening: This machine helps to adjust the water content and temperature of the sunflower.

4) Crusher: The size of sunflower is big, so it's divided to 3-4 small piece. The small piece is suitable for flaking roller.

5) Flaking: This machine will broke the cell of sunflower and add the superficial area of the material.

6) Cooker: The function of cooker is to adjust the water content and temperature of the material. Then the sunflower is suitable for oil pressing or solvent extraction.

7) Presser: This is a main machine in the whole sunflower pretreatment workshop. It helps to extract crude oil.
